Mr Desmond WONG
Desmond Wong graduated from the NUS in 1986 as a Bachelor of Accountancy. He has more than 20 years’ experience in multinational companies. As an entrepreneur, he ventured into the medical tourism business in 2005 by partnering Parkway Hospitals Singapore to promote Singapore as medical hub. He ventured further into the ambulance business in 2010 and set up AMS with the local doctors in Johor Bahru, Johor. He is also the Singapore country manager for Parkway Hospitals Singapore in Malaysia.
Dr. TAN Chow-Wei
Dr.Tan Chow Wei obtained his basic medical degree from University of Malaya in 1978. He later joined the Malaysian Armed Forces as a regimental medical officer and later medical registrar before entering private practice. He is listed as a Family Medicine Specialist (FMS) in the National Specialist Register since 2007. He has also obtained a post-graduate diploma in Teaching of Family Medicine (2009) and teaches part time at Monash University Malaysia. He is currently the chief examiner for the Conjoint MAFP/FRACGP Examination. Dr Tan has been actively involved in numerous community projects. He had led a medical relief team to the Indonesian island of Nias during the aftermath of the 2004 Asian tsunami crisis.
Dr Patrick Cheah completed his Doctor of Medicine at China Medical University Taiwan. He interned and received resident and postgraduate training at the Chang Gung Memorial Medical Center and Lanseed Hospital in Taiwan. He received and is diplomate of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He began his Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine career in 1995 after completing his training. Before joining Asia Medevac Services, Dr Patrick Cheah is the senior consultant in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Lanseed Hospital, Taiwan. He is very active in training medical students, interns, and residents. Dr Patrick Cheah is now appointed Medical Director of Asia Medevac Services. He coordinates, supervises, and regulates the delivery of quality comprehensive medical care for all domestic and international medical missions for Asia Medevac Services in addition to being an active flight physician.
Ms Angela CHEN
Ms Angela Chen has more than 25 years of experience in the nursing industry. She started her career in Medical Specialist Centre Johor (now known as KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital) in 1985 as operating theatre nurse and Anaesthetic Assistant. She later joined Chiew Orthopaedic Clinic & Surgery as personal assistant to the specialist. Angela currently is also serving as General Manager of operations and patient services. She has brought her wealth of experience to AMS and will contribute towards its growth.
